Number Ten, a milestone, an achievement or simply another punch on the clock. The return to Chantilly in 2014 was like returning to a fantasy you thought unreal. The gorgeous surroundings, the perfect weather and stupendous venue were all there and slightly better than you remembered. The Millennium Series has successfully found a season closing event that can triumph the magic we experienced when we played on the turf of Disneyland. May we keep on dreaming and play our hearts out among the prancing horses for as long as they allow us.
Disregard the yawns, don't pay attention to the bored gazes and forget about those sighs. Instead look at the mentally drained faces, bottled up fury and cool and collected winners. Vexed or vigilant, Bitburg 2014 was an event, a place, a world, a universe of its own.
Number eight in line and first of the year. In this Inthemiddle issue, featuring the Mediterranean Cup, we see all the photographers step up to the plate and deliver better shots than ever before. A promising start to the year, yes it looks like 2014 will have a lot in store for us.
The seventh issue of Inthemiddle features 2013th final event of the Millennium series held at a historical location in the heart of France. The beautiful surroundings, high level of play and the last rays of september sun illuminated the tournament which is why the featured photos truly are unique when it comes to paintball photography.
The sixth issue was a combination of work from the second and third Millennium event in 2013. Two completely different events. Each with its own atmosphere, weather and outcome. Due to several reasons a separate issue for both events was not possible, luckily the combination of both turned out great.
After a successful first year Inthemiddle continues with a fresh new issue. This one sets the tone for 2013 and will be the stepping stone for many more to come. Puget-sur-Argens has now become an established battleground for the Millennium series and has proven to be a warm welcome at the start of the season.
Sometimes the conditions of a tournament leave a mark on its progression and therefor its conclusion. The last Millennium event of 2012 was dominated by it. The heavy rain made the seemingly perfect venue into a watery bloodbath. Awful and crazy to play in, beautiful and amazing to look back at.
For years now the third Millennium event is held near London and for years that event has left a lingering mark in our memories. The tournament held there in 2012 is no exception, with the return of the Nations Cup and the smell of grass still on our feet we smile at these pages.
Like the long power lines supported by poles we glide from event to event, peak to peak. Bitburg is one of those peaks, one that is anything but average. With its superior venue, almost perfect weather and great turnout the event in 2012 was no less than spectacular.
The very first issue of Inthemiddle was somewhat of an experiment. It was great to see so many photographers contributing to something so new and it was even greater to see so many people respond so positive to the magazine.
